Liv Nelson

I'm Liv, a 3rd year Media Production student, Cheerleading's competitive Team Captain, and UOG Sports Committee member.

I'm running for Sport's Officer this year because I want to be a part of making sure everyone can get the most out of one of the most enjoyable parts of university.

I feel my involvement in my own club as well as others through the committee has given me not only insight on how everything is effectively run, but also helped me to develop the skills I would need for the role.

What I would do as your officer:

  • MENTAL HEALTH

University is a struggle for most people at one point or another, I want to use sport to help relieve this as much as I can.

I will run various campaigns, involving all clubs, encouraging people to reach out and use the support the university has to offer, but also to get active; sport has many mental benefits as well as the obvious physical ones.

  • PARTICIPATION

I want to increase participation levels across all sports, looking at fresher intake but also current students, growing Team Glos as a community.

I want to arrange slots for sports to be able to drop into lectures during freshers, expanding reach to further than just the fayre.

  • COMMUNICATION

As Sports Officer, I will be available as a point of contact for each team no matter what your issue, creating a strong link between the SU and you as students.

I will ensure your club has the relevant information to access whatever is available to you throughout the season to give you the best chance of success and maximise opportunity.
