The University of Gloucestershire Students' Union is a registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of students at the University of Gloucestershire.

UoGSU operates on the three main UoG campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester. We are a student led organisation with three full time, elected student officers. We deliver support for student groups like clubs and societies, we train and oversee student representatives, operate three physical shops and three social spaces which our students love. Behind the scene we have a small central finance and HR team as well as a three-person senior leadership team.

Career Staff roles:

Student Activities Coordinator

The Student Activities Coordinator will work as part of a team of full-time staff and student leaders to support clubs, societies and other student groups to access everything they need to have the best co-curricular experience whilst at UoG. The post holder will be a key point of contact for student leaders and other stakeholders ensuring that our diverse student body is supported to the highest possible standard. A key element of the role will be to administer and organise BUCS sports. 

Key information:

Salary: £21,550

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, Permanent contract

Location: Across all UoGSU sites with a 'home' campus of Oxstalls, Gloucester where you will spend 60% of your time

Main responsibilities:

This will include regularly updating and promoting comms on the Students’ Union digital channels in order to increase awareness of our services, events and activities. The position will involve working with a content management system & supporting SU staff and officers to deliver and report on high quality campaigns.


Pay: Minimum £9.50/hr

SU Assistant:

Join our vibrant SU Marketing Team with over 10 student staff and full time staff to support you develop in this role! Flexbile schedules, SU perks and a work environment that genuinely cares about your growth.

Main Responsibility:

You will represent the SU as the front of house; welcome guests positively, answer or direct queries and execute all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards. The receptionist is also responsible for the daily shop management; stock control, serving customers and processing sales transactions.

Join our Bar team and work at our student-centric venues on FCH, Oxstalls and Park Campus. Supporting some of the biggest events of the year including Sports Team fundraisers, Welcome events, Varsity and more!

Main Responsibility:

You will work behind the bar at our SU venues and events, serving drinks and supporting with the upkeep of the venues, stock management and customer service.

Pay: Minimum £9.50/hr
Hours: Variable hours each week- expecting 2 evening shifts per week.

Student Subject Coordinator (26 roles available for each Subject Community)

Student Subject Coordinators are a essential link between course reps, Students' Union and the wider student body. Using student feedback, you will work closely with your Academic Subject Leaders to implement projects and ideas within your subject community for the benefit of students.
