Welcome to the UoG Darts Society!
This Society is a safe environment open to all, whether you play, just enjoying watching or know nothing at all, come along and see what it’s all about. With weekly meetups planned in the Francis Close Hall student union bar, you can actively hone your skills at the game of darts or just have a relaxed session amongst friends. Weekly attendance is not necessary and coming when suits you best is encouraged. The bar will also be open and available for students to buy drinks if they so wish.
Being part of a university darts Society allows us the opportunity of participating in the University Darts UK league, where we would compete against other unis hopefully taking back the win for UoG! Participation in the league won’t be mandatory and instead will involve "try-outs" of sorts to see who our best team is! Local tournaments and competitions shall also be entered if interest is shown where you can represent the Society against the general public.
A termly tournament is planned with a prize pot going to the winner.
If competing isn’t your thing and you just enjoy watching the sport, feel free to come along and talk about professional games past and upcoming major televised matches with similar likeminded people.
At a £1 joining fee, what’s stopping you! Join today and come have fun. And, in the words of the great Sid Waddell, "as giraffes say, you don’t get no leaves unless you stick your neck out!"
Game on!
