Affiliated with the University of Gloucestershire Students’Union (UOGSU) as a recognised non-profit society, CSSA-GLOS serves the vibrant community across all four campuses situated in Cheltenham and Gloucester. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and intellectually inspiring environment. In accordance with the University’s values of equality, diversity, and mutual respect, we also take pride in acting as an enduring bridge for intercultural dialogue and scholarly collaboration between the UK and China.
What We Foster Together:
Grounded Peer & Transitional Support: Practical guidance on arrival, settling into Gloucestershire, and navigating local academic life—offering warmth and reassurance to ease the transition into a new academic culture.
Scholarly Community & Academic Dialogue: An open, collaborative forum uniting undergraduate learners, postgraduate researchers (PGRs), postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars across diverse faculties. We host informal research roundtables, interdisciplinary colloquia, and peer-support workshops to inspire meaningful scholarly exchange.
UK-China Cultural & Educational Enrichment: Meaningful cultural showcases, traditional festival gatherings, and educational forums that celebrate heritage while fostering thoughtful, constructive dialogue within our wider multicultural university community.
Wellbeing, Welfare & Academic Community: Working in harmony with Students’ Union services and university departments to share reliable guidance, promote mental and physical wellbeing, and represent the constructive voice of Chinese scholars and students.
