We’re the University of Gloucestershire Women’s Rugby Club (UOGWRFC) and whether you’ve played rugby your whole life or have never touched a rugby ball before, there’s a place for you here.
We compete in Western Tier 1, bringing competitive university rugby to the pitch while keeping our club welcoming to players of every level. You don’t need to be experienced, super fit or know all the rules before you join. We have players who have represented England U20s and played Premiership rugby, alongside girls who picked up rugby for the first time at university. Everyone trains together, learns together and helps each other get better.
We’re competitive, but we’re also big on having a laugh. Expect great coaching, plenty of encouragement and a team that wants you to improve — while still making sure you enjoy being there. Whether you want to compete at a high level, play recreationally, or simply try something completely new at uni, there’s a place for you at UOGWRFC.
The rugby is only part of it.
We’re a proper student club, so there are plenty of socials, nights out, team events and questionable fancy-dress decisions. From celebrating wins to turning up for a Wednesday night social, a lot of the best memories happen away from the pitch.
Not ready to play? That’s completely fine. You can join us as a Social Member and still be part of the team, come to socials and get involved in everything UOGWRFC has to offer.
Training Times:
Mondays – 17:00 to 18:30
Sundays – 17:00 to 18:30
