Women's and Men's Football at BUCS Club Committee Leaders Event

On Thursday the 8th of October, Women's and Men's Football had an early start to drive to The City Ground in Nottingham for an event hosted by BUCS.

The Club Committee Leaders event is a national development initiative ( across the North, Midlands, and South) designed to help student committees gain skills, knowledge, and confidence to lead their university sports clubs effectively and sustainably. The events bring committees from across each region to share ideas, learn practical skills and strengthen connections between other universities.

We undertook a insightful session by Benson James Miyoba about hard work, mental toughness and having confidence to lead others. We then got to see the ground and then went back inside for two more sessions.

One session was a SWOT analysis of our clubs which allowed us to compare our strengths and weaknesses with other university sports clubs, allowing us to take ideas from other committees and talk through ways to develop our clubs

Our last session of the day was a club management session allowing us to set goals for this year, how we as a committee, can work together to set the club up for sustainability and success in the years coming. And the continuation of the collaboration between Men's and Women's Football.

A very insightful and fantastic day was had!
