We are a new society established in 2023 and are now in our third year running from September!

As a society, we pride ourselves on creating an environment that helps law students become comfortable with their abilities in the academic and employment world.

For new students who may not know what mooting is, Mooting simulates a real court environment and allows you to put your legal knowledge into practice. The moot covers the appeals process; you are given a hypothetical case and will take on the role of either the appellant or respondent.  Each side must prepare written and verbal arguments to present to a judge! - If you love researching and presenting an argument or are just passionate about debating, this society is for you! You don't need legal knowledge to join us, we will help you along the way!

What type of activities can you expect from the mooting society?

  • Academic sessions where we give you a perspective into how successful level 5 & 6's write answers out
  • How to conduct legal research effectively and correctly
  • Friendly Mooting with other universities' law societies
  • More competitive mooting for those who want to do it
  • Debates on current issues
  • Pub golf
  • Themed nights out
  • Non-drinking socials
  • Dressing up all formal to go play mini golf
  • End of the year Law Summer Formal
