Here at UoGSU we believe that our members’ voices should be at the centre of everything we do. As we settle into a new academic year, our Student Voice Community Organisers have been out on each campus, speaking to students and listening to what they have to say about life at UoG so far.
At our brand-new City Campus, in the heart of Gloucester, the City SVCO Emily spent a day last week with your Education & Community Officer Bianca talking to students across campus as they studied, chatted, ate lunch and played ping pong!
As the campus is in its first few weeks with a diverse population of students, some of whom are also new to the UoG community and others who have previously studied at a different campus, we felt it was vital to get out and speak to students about their experiences so far.
Around every corner of City, Emily, Bianca and a traffic light of Glossys stopped students to get their view of their new home. This initial feedback will be followed over the next few weeks with more pop ups from Emily and your SU team, building on the information students have been giving us and will inform our campaigns and activities at City moving forward, ensuring the student voice is at the heart of that work.
Your incredible Officer Team will also be presenting an overview of this first round of student voice feedback to the University Council this week and we will keep City Campus students informed of any updates via your SVCO and Course Reps when they are in post. Don’t forget this is your last week to stand for election as a Course Rep and be involved with embedding the student voice at the heart of UoG!
You can always send the Advocacy & Campaigns Team any detailed feedback you would like us to hear (from any campus!) at SUstudentvoice@glos.ac.uk
