Cost of Living Support for Students: Fed Up Food Pantry Essentials Package

This essentials package includes basic pantry staples for students who need a helping hand in making their food shop last longer.

Your SU is aware that as we head into December and January, it can be tough with maintenance loans running low and fewer hours to work as we head into assessment periods.  That’s why we're here to help!

How to Request Your Package: Simply head to the front page of this website and click the button to request your essentials package. All we need is your student number, campus of study, and which SU office you'll pick up from. You will then be contacted to let you know you can come and collect the package discreetly from the SU.

What’s in the Package: Think of it as a helping hand with the basics: There are a differing range of canned goods, dry ingredients, pantry staples, tea, soups and some hygiene products in the packages. It’s all about giving you some help to get by – no frills, just essentials.

Important Info: This campaign is for essential items only. We cannot accommodate dietary requests or swaps, so please use the items as they are & think about teaming up with your flatmates or halls neighbours to create a meal!

Fed Up is Activities & Opportunities Officer Freya’s year-long campaign focused on tackling student food insecurity and the effect it has on your education, energy, focus, mental health and whole university experience. No student should have to choose between eating and their education.

This campaign is in collaboration with the Students' Union Food Pantry, a project that is run by your SU to support our members and alleviate the financial burden faced by students struggling to make ends meet.

Your SU wants all students to be able to access the service equally. That’s why the Fed Up Food Pantry operates under a fair usage policy, meaning we encourage you to request what you need but be mindful of your fellow students. We reserve the right to refuse access at any time.

If you need support or guidance regarding the cost of living, or signposting to external services/University Teams please email suadvice@glos.ac.uk or directly fill in the triage form here and our Advisor will be in touch.
