Men’s Rugby Union – Three Peaks Challenge

A huge congratulations to Michael Gamble and his teammates from UoG Men’s Rugby Union for completing the incredible Three Peaks Challenge in support of men’s mental health.

Taking on the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon – the team pushed themselves to the limit both physically and mentally over an intense 24-hour period. Their goal was not only to conquer the peaks but also to raise vital awareness and funds for Movember, a charity dedicated to tackling men’s mental health issues, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Throughout the challenge, the squad demonstrated exceptional resilience, teamwork, and camaraderie, embodying the true spirit of university sport and the values at the heart of UoG Men’s Rugby. Their determination to support such an important cause is truly inspiring, and their efforts have already helped spark important conversations around men’s wellbeing within the wider student community.

Men’s Rugby League – Care Home Visit

Players from UoG Men’s Rugby League spent the morning at Sandfields Care Home, chatting with residents and sharing stories over tea and biscuits. The visit was a great opportunity to connect across generations and show how our teams are actively engaging with the local community. By building these positive relationships, the players are helping to challenge stereotypes about students and highlight the value of connection beyond campus.

Volleyball – Think Pink Fundraiser

The UoG Volleyball Club hosted their annual Think Pink Fundraiser, bringing our sports clubs together for a friendly tournament to raise money for breast cancer awareness. The event was a great success, with their custom think pink tops spotted across campus in support of the cause.

Women’s Rugby – Club of the Month

Congratulations to Women’s Rugby for being named Club of the Month! Their dedication to the sport and community has shone through in recent weeks, from organising a charity match to their amazing effort with their TEAMGlos points. Well done!
