Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer

This week I've been busy both in Gloucester city and at my desk. I caught up with Hash from Gloucester Feed the Hungry, alongside our CEO, Josh, to move forward with plans for setting up our very own foodbank. I’ve been developing my TeamGlos Status project, making sure the whole SU team is involved in the process, and preparing my report for the Board of Trustees. I also met with Anne from Gloucester Gateway Trust to discuss how they can support my Fed Up campaign. On top of that, I teamed up with our Sports & Society Marketing Officers on a Welcome Week marketing project and joined the rest of the team for a much-needed SU building clear-out ahead of some exciting upcoming developments.

Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer

I started the week with an academic appeals group meeting in which I ensure that the student perspective was taken into account as well as the procedures for followed fairly. I have done a lot of work with externals across Gloucester informing them on what would be beneficial for students. In addition, I spent a morning at city campus with a few members of our team we went around Gloucester to explore the city. Friday was all about cleaning up and ensuring the SU spaces were organized.

Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week, as Welfare and Diversity Officer, I focused on building connections and preparing for the busy start of the academic year. I confirmed collaboration with Catherine on a career skill development project for international students and scheduled a meeting with the Money Advice Team to explore joint support initiatives. I also worked on refining resources for the “Think Before You Ink” housing awareness campaign. In addition, I discussed our students’ wellbeing and safety issues with the Cabinet Member of Housing, responded to student welfare queries, liaised with support teams, and began planning inclusive activities for both new and returning students.
