Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer

This week Freya was on annual leave!

Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer

Thanks to sponsorship from Gloucester City Council, something big is on the way that will give our students even more opportunities to enjoy community activities!
As always, I’ve been busy reaching out to local communities across Gloucester. This week has been focused on connecting with groups that can help our students boost their employability. Through collaboration with a number of local institutions, we’ve created opportunities for students to get involved in projects linked to their subject areas, helping students gain the practical skills and experiences they need to stand out in their future careers. On top of this, I had a really productive meeting with the Managing Director of Stagecoach Southwest. Stagecoach is keen to hear directly from students, so keep an eye on the GlosBound page to see what’s coming next!

Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week was very productive with several important meetings. I attended a meeting with Gather and Gather where we discussed introducing more halal options in the cafeteria and also explored how to enhance students employability through cafeteria opportunities. I also met with the Police Community Support Officer to address student safety and well-being concerns, ensuring a safer environment on campus. Additionally, I had a constructive meeting with our Money Advice Manager to explore collaborative ways of supporting students financially and providing better resources. Overall, it was a busy and impactful week focused on improving student welfare and opportunities.
