Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer

I’ve been everywhere this week, from Park to Oxstalls to the arena. I was even lucky enough to support equestrian with their home competition, which was so great to see, especially with them winning! This week also saw all of our varsity captains get together for a big media day, which was really exciting. We also had Voice it to the VC at FCH, it was fab to see so many students turn out and chat to Clare our Vice-Chancellor about their concerns.

Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer

What did I do this week? Great question! I met with the head of the school of education, health and science to go over some issues courses are finding with the new marking grids introduced through the curriculum transformation project. Then, meeting a student and the guardians, who are a group of women who patrol the streets of Cheltenham on a Saturday night to ensure people's safety. Voice it to the VC was on Tuesday and I was your host! Y’all gave a good grilling! I also met with the MP of Cheltenham to go through student issues and priorities.

Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week was very busy for me. I started by joining the Open Day at the City Campus to represent our Students’ Union. I also attended several meetings, including Voice to the VC, the SU Audit and Risk Committee, University Academic Board, and the University Access and Participation Committee. Alongside these, I joined events for International Women’s Day, where I heard powerful stories from the speakers and reflected on work–life balance as a woman in a leadership role. I also attended the Iftar party organised by the ISOC Society, which was a wonderful opportunity to come together, share a special moment, and celebrate community.
