Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer
This week began with our Council Development Day, where we explored the skills across the council and discussed how to make the most of them. On Tuesday, we had Council, covering a range of important topics, with Bianca and I ensuring students’ voices were represented throughout. The rest of the week involved working on some campaign planning, catching up on emails, and helping out with the merch pop-up on campus. It’s been a busy and productive week!
Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer
The Community Access fund launched this week! Freya and I were in council development day, learning alongside members of university council, the next morning we had a productive council meeting! I also had a meeting with FirstLight, who help survivors of sexual abuse, being alongside them every step of the way. You will be seeing them at our events soon, SAG365 coming soon! Law students have also taken on a brief for the SU; can’t wait to see what they produce! Rounded off the week by working with our Park SVCO Callum.
Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer
This week, I spent a lot of time engaging with students to listen to their voices, experiences, and concerns. Many students opened about the challenges they’re facing, and I’ve been actively working to convey those concerns to the university’s leadership team to ensure they are heard and addressed. Alongside that, I’ve been busy planning the setup for the Story Sharing Wall, which I’m aiming to launch as part of Black History Month. The wall will serve as a platform for students to share their stories, celebrate diversity, and promote understanding within our campus community.
