Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer
This week I’ve been focused on finishing presentations and plans for Student Leader Training, which the team delivered on Thursday and Friday! The sessions went really well, and it was so nice to see students back on campus, getting involved and ready to make a difference in the year ahead. I’m really excited for Welcome next week and can’t wait to see all the new students getting stuck into sports and societies. It’s been a great start, and I’m looking forward to everything we have planned for this year.
Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer
The highlight of this week was student leader training, on Thursday and Friday I was able to meet so many of the incredible societies and sports clubs committee members. In our conversations we were brainstorming on ways to get their soc/club more involved in the community and giving back to the community! In a meeting with Gloucester Bid we discussed Re-Fresh which is a fair happening in September that aims to show off all the opportunities within Gloucester – we as UoGSU are collaborating with Hartpury to have a stall in kings square that students can share what they want to see in the community.
I've also met with the comfy pew which have created a new student breakfast menu- which is highly discounted, this is aimed at our City Students, super affordable! We had a lovely staff day with Hartpury SU and talked to their officers about all the exciting plans we have moving forward. See more on @uogsuedcomm

This week was full of energy and exciting opportunities. All of us officers were thrilled to meet our Hartpury officers, and we enjoyed taking part in lots of activities together. I also had a productive meeting with Jeorge, where we discussed ways to engage more students in swimming, which is completely free for them. I attended the Mature Students’ Pre-Induction Services Fair and wrapped up the week by meeting many clubs, sports teams, and societies, as well as taking part in the Student Leaders Training Programme. Alongside this, I was busy preparing for inductions and the upcoming Welcome Fayre.
