Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer

This week was all about the Welcome Fayre, our biggest one yet! It was amazing to see so many students exploring everything UOGSU has to offer, from clubs and societies to student voice and the merch! I had a great day bouncing between my stall, chatting about Fed Up and the cost of living, and connecting with sports teams and societies, making lots of social content. It was such a great day, looking forward to what the rest of Welcome has to offer.

Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer

This week marked the start of Welcome Week, busy but amazing to meet so many new faces! I attended Induction Talks, spoke about the SU, and saw many of you at the Welcome Fair. I shared opportunities through GlosBound and handed out 150 passports, hope you enjoy the activities! Don’t forget the Community Access Fund! I also joined Tabletop and Art Society’s first sessions, both lots of fun! Judged the Law Showcase, so impressed by the freshers’ skills. It’s inspiring to see societies and sports teams creating great events. Excited for the next week and everything still to come!

Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week has been full of energy as I focused on welcoming our new students. I was busy supporting the induction activities and had the opportunity to meet many students during the Welcome Fayre. As part of my stall, I set up a Wish Tree, which received a wonderful response and strong engagement from students who shared their thoughts and hopes. Alongside welcoming them, I also introduced my priority campaign, Unmask, and had meaningful conversations about its aims and importance. It was inspiring to see students engaging with the campaign and showing enthusiasm for creating a more inclusive campus.
