Last week, the University of Gloucestershire Darts Team secured an incredible victory, finishing top of the table in the Central West UDUK League. After months of dedication, travel, and competition, both the A and B teams delivered outstanding performances to bring the title home to #TeamGlos.

Their journey began back in early October on home grounds at our Francis Close Hall campus, where the A and B teams faced off in an exciting opening match. Just a week later, both teams travelled to take on the University of Leicester and came away with the win.

In October, the team traveled to Swansea to compete in the Challenge Cup, followed by a trip to Loughborough in November for another UDUK League match. They then returned home to host the University of Birmingham, showcasing not only their skill but their pride in representing the university on home ground in the league.

In November the team travelled to Portsmouth for the next stage of the Challenge Cup. Although it was a close match and Portsmouth ultimately took the win, the Gloucestershire Team Glos spirit. They also supported Movember’s Inside Out Kit Day, a UOG wide spread campaign, combining competition with charity and community.

They faced Warwick in their final match before Christmas. Returning in January, the squad picked up right where they left off, with another competitive A vs B fixture and a friendly match against Worcester to sharpen their skills.

February saw more success, including another victory over Leicester and a strong performance against Birmingham, who were unable to break Gloucestershire’s winning streak. By March, the team had built unstoppable momentum, competing in Nationals and taking on Warwick once again in the penultimate league match.

Anticipation was building around the final showdown against Loughborough on 18th March - and UoG Darts delivered. The A Team finished the season undefeated, officially becoming Central West UDUK League Champions.

This achievement is proof of the commitment, teamwork, and talent across both the A and B teams. We are incredibly proud of all the players for representing the University of Gloucestershire with passion and determination. They have truly made their mark on the Central West League!

To recognise the success of the team, they have been newly added to the Varsity line up, where they will face Worcester. You can buy tickets to watch them here.

Fingers crossed they keep their winning streak going and bring another win home for #teamglos
