Welcome to UoG Social Issues Society! We are a discussion-based society actively seeking to make a positive impact on the Cheltenham community through volunteering and fundraising.
The society meets every week to discuss social issues that are relevant on a local, national, and global level. Every topic that is discussed is voted for by our members and we are always open to suggestions if there were a particular topic of interest that you would like to discuss or share with the society. We hope to engage with guest speakers to collaborate on such topics.
As well as having open discussion we wish to be active members in the wider society by making a positive impact where we can. We aim to do this through volunteering and fundraising with local charities, food banks and churches.
We will also host social events such as quizzes, art and crafts, and board game nights.
Our Society is member orientated and we love to hear views from different perspectives in a safe and friendly environment.
