We’re a student-led network for researchers and research-active students. Our goal is simple: help you do better research and enjoy the journey by connecting you with skills, peers, and opportunities across UoG and beyond.

What we do

  • Core Workshops: Research Essentials (referencing, discovery, tools), writing & presentation clinics, methods/ethics refreshers, and short skills micro-sessions you can actually use.

  • Research Discussions (“the good gossip”): relaxed meet-ups where we chat about what’s new in our fields papers we loved (or didn’t), seminar takeaways, funding whispers, conference tips, and “what’s working” stories.

  • Talks & Works-in-Progress: lightning talks, friendly WIP sessions, and themed panels with student/staff speakers.

  • Seminar & Conference Visits: group trips to local university seminars, public lectures, and relevant professional events.

How we run

  • Student-led, staff-supported. Chaired by the Research Community President with a small organising team and volunteers.

  • Open to all students. PGR, PGT, and research-active undergrads are welcome unless an event says otherwise.

  • Short, practical, evidence-first. We keep sessions focused .

Membership

  • £1 annual membership via the SU site (optional but appreciated). Members vote on priorities, propose sessions, volunteer, and may get early-access booking on selected activities.
