In a Nutshell

GlosBound aims to reduce student loneliness by connecting students to the many communities in Gloucester!

Objective 1

I'll be working towards integrating students into local life and community groups, making it feel like somewhere to call home.

Objective 2

I plan to embed students in positions of influence within university and city decision-making spaces to ensure the student voice is heard in ever space that affects them, this is your city too!

Objective 3

I will be lobbying local councils and businesses to build the infrastructure students need to thrive in Gloucester, such as placement volunteering and graduate opportunities.

Gloucester Community Access Fund

Thanks to generous support from Gloucester City Council, GlosBound is launching the Gloucester Community Access Fund for the 2025/26 academic year.

This one-year fund is designed to help students take part in community activities, workshops, and events across Gloucester. The aim is simple: to reduce student loneliness, create opportunities for connection, and build lasting links between our students and the local community.

Whether it’s joining a creative class, trying a new sport, attending a cultural event, or getting involved in community projects, the fund can help cover the cost so you don’t miss out.

How it Works

Step 1

Applications are reviewed every two weeks throughout the academic year.

Step 2

The typical award is around £30 per student, though there is flexibility depending on the activity. If the activity is over £30, we will pay the institution directly for your space.

Step 3

You’ll need to complete a short application form to apply.

Step 4

After attending the activity, you’ll be asked to do a form. As a part of this you will be asked for feedback on your activity and the payback form and receipts. On return of this form your funds will be released.

Criteria

Gloucester-based

The event, class, or activity must take place within Gloucester.

Community focus

Activities should connect you with others, encourage learning, creativity, wellbeing, or interaction.

Examples

Anything listed under Community in the GlosBound passport, local creative or sports classes, cultural events and festivals, community/local projects, travel to and from these.

Attendance required

If you are awarded funding but miss the session, you will not be eligible to apply again.

Individual applications only

Funding is awarded to individuals, not groups.
