Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer
This week began with a visit to the brand-new City Campus, exploring the exciting new facilities. Back in the office, I’ve been busy with a variety of meetings and projects; from developing marketing ideas for welcome and helping plan the upcoming Student Leaders training, to meeting with University Catering to discuss future opportunities. I also supported a Disability Transition Day, ensuring students felt welcomed and supported. It’s been a productive week focused on planning, collaboration, and preparing for the year ahead.
Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer
This week, I dived straight into progressing the Course Rep Accreditation scheme, helping to pave the way for stronger student volunteer representation. GlosBound is moving forward at pace, with a strong focus on community connections through meetings with Glos Quays and the Canal & River Trust. I also dedicated time to enhancing personal tutor resources and exploring ways to get more students involved.
A real highlight was visiting City Campus, not only to have a good look around, but also to film a TikTok. The campus is full of beautiful, welcoming spaces, and I can’t wait to see them with student life. I rounded off the week by preparing academic appeal documents, ensuring that students are fully represented and that every procedure is followed correctly.
Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer
This week, as Welfare and Diversity Officer, I had a productive and meaningful schedule. Alongside my fellow officers, I visited our new City Campus to familiarise ourselves with the space and connect with the student community there. I also attended a meeting with the TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework) team to represent student voices and advocate for inclusivity in academic experiences. Additionally, Freya and I participated in the Transitions Day at Park Campus, where we had the opportunity to meet with students with disabilities, hear their stories, and better understand the challenges they face insights that will help shape more supportive, accessible student services.
