Get Ready...

Speak Week is back from 16th and 20th of February, and the idea behind it is simple. If you’re a student at UoG, your experience should help shape what happens here.
All week, the Students’ Union will be running pop-ups across campus. You’ll spot them in busy areas between lectures, with staff and course reps around for a quick chat. You don’t need to book anything or prepare a speech. Just stop for a moment, answer a question or two, and head on your way.
If you’ve got more to say, you can fill in the longer student voice survey while you’re there. It only takes a few minutes, and everyone who completes it will be entered into a draw for a £50 supermarket gift card. It’s a small incentive, but the real value is in what happens with the feedback afterwards.
The pop-ups are designed to feel quick and honest. There’s an interactive idea poll where you can suggest changes and vote on other students’ suggestions. The UoG Happiness Index asks a straightforward question about how you’re actually feeling here. No spin, no complicated scales, just your view. And then there’s the “1 Minute to Change” question. One minute, one answer. What would you fix first if you had the chance?
This isn’t just about collecting opinions for the sake of it. The data from Speak Week goes into meetings with senior staff, course teams, and decision-makers across the university. It helps set priorities and gives the Students’ Union the evidence it needs to push for change.
So if something on your course isn’t working, or something is going really well, come and say it. Look out for a Speak Week pop-up and take a couple of minutes to get involved. Your voice carries more weight than you might think.
