Freya Rowley - Activities and Opportunities Officer

This week has been packed with preparation for an exciting and busy November! From planning for Movember and New Things November to organising the Fed Up cooking class, Student Council elections, Team Photo Day, and upcoming Graduation celebrations, there’s been a lot going on. I’ve also been working on a ‘Busy BUCS Wednesday’, with some special guests, and making sure everything is ready behind the scenes with plenty of meetings, calls, emails, and Canva templates. It’s been a busy week, but I’m really looking forward to next month!

Bianca Holland - Education and Community Officer

This week has focused on planning and preparation for when students return to campus. We developed the Glos Student Form Action Plan, which aims to address key areas highlighted by students in the city centre. I also briefed a group of law students on an upcoming project, ensuring they understood their roles and objectives. Additionally, I met with the head of the Curriculum Transformation Project to discuss how student voice can be effectively integrated into its development. Overall, this week has been about setting strong foundations to ensure meaningful student engagement and smooth progress in the coming weeks.

Iffat Jahan - Welfare and Diversity Officer

This week shone bright with the lights of Diwali! I joined our amazing Indian Society from start to finish or from setting up the decorations to cleaning up after the celebration. It was such a joyful event, and our students loved every bit of it! At the same time, our Black History Month Story Sharing Wall continued to fill with powerful voices and stories. I also connected with students to hear their ideas and started planning for next month’s events. Plus, I wrapped up some training sessions for the upcoming Students’ Council elections and lots of learning and excitement ahead!
