Student Council

Run by students, for students

Your SU is run by students, for students. To make sure every voice is heard, we have three Sub-Councils and one Student Council. These groups bring together elected reps from across the University to discuss ideas, raise concerns, and make decisions that shape what the SU does.

Why get involved?

These councils only work if students share what matters to them. Whether it’s a small change on your course or a big idea for the whole University, there’s a place for your voice.

Here’s how it works

Share your feedback with the right rep

For sport or societies, speak to a Club or Society Committee Member. For academic issues, talk to your Course Rep. For inclusion or wellbeing, speak to a Welfare Rep.

Your rep takes it to a Sub-Council

Your rep will then take the matter to their sub-council and raise it on your behalf, for the rest of the reps to discuss the appropriate actions

Big decisions go to Student Council

If it needs University-wide action or SU policy change, it moves up to Student Council the highest student-led decision-making body.
