UoG Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu is a fun and effective form of self-defence. We teach a modern form of the traditional Japanese martial art of Jiu Jitsu. Combining a system of throws, joint locks, and strikes; students are taught to use an aggressor's energy against them.

Throughout the year, we have many opportunities to get together with other clubs from across the country, including national training sessions and competitions twice a year.

We try to get together regularly outside of sessions for fun socials. That might mean anything from a night out in pubs and clubs, to trampolining, mini golf or a chill night in playing games or watching movies. We have a great mix of people in the club and we try our best to cater to everyone's interests.

Training times:

  • Tue 7:15pm - 9:15pm
  • Thu 7:15pm - 9:15pm
  • Thur (strength and conditioning) 9:15pm-10:15pm

Training sessions are currently held in the sports studio by the gym at Oxstalls Campus (turn right at the main reception and follow the corridor to the end)

Oxstalls campus is easily accessible using the 94 and 94U buses that run between campuses, you can find out bus times using the Stagecoach app. Alternatively, get in touch with us to ask about possible car pooling.
