This week, the Students’ Voice Team were on the road! Taking in the autumnal sights of every campus for Course Rep Training.
Your Education & Community Officer Bianca Holland was championing the introduction of our new Course Rep Accreditation Scheme, and we ran an incredible ten sessions across every campus and online. It was such an incredible week for us in the Students’ Union, meeting so many passionate students. Some were starting their first year as Course Reps and others had been voted into that role for the third or fourth time but everyone was engaged and collaborating as a student community.
Course Reps are an integral part of our Student Representation and Democracy structure and will be undertaking ongoing training and skills development throughout this Academic year, as well as sitting on Education & Community Council to ensure they are raising academic and course related feedback from you, our members to review your academic experience and how UoG connects with the wider community.
Your Student Voice Community Organisers, Emily, Maisie, Callum and Saina work with Course Reps to ensure that each campus has a voice in what is affecting your communities.
This feeds into our Student Council, the top decision-making body of the SU. It brings together representatives from all areas to debate, vote and set the overall direction of UoGSU – It always has the final say!
Keep an eye out for the team the first week in November as we take on Campus Tour – The Sequel, as polling stations will be popping up on YOUR campus when voting opens for the Student Council Elections 2025….
