My name is Emily Burton, I am a 2^th year student studying sports journalism, running for the position of SU Sports Experience Officer. I compete for Great Britain in Triathlon, I believe that the experiences that I have learnt going from the grass root level of sports to the highest possible level are invaluable and I want to pass these experiences onto as many students as possible. 

My first aim is to elevate the minority sports clubs to increase memberships and participation, to encourage greater success in all competitions and to create more of an awareness for their sport around the university. 

Secondly, I intend to give better support for UOG teams who do really well in competitions such as BUCS as a success reward program.

I will endeavour to bring together all welfare services related to sport to achieve better well-being and performance.

Finally, I intend to help to increase participation levels in UOG sports teams by allowing students to trial for relevant teams more than once a year. It is important to maximise participation in all sports across the university as well as strengthening the bonds between sports teams.
