Candidate for the position of Welfare Officer

SAM BATES

Every Voice Matters.

My name is Sam and I want to be your next SU Welfare Officer. I am a third-year art student and have been representing the School of Art as their Subject Representative. I want to bring these skills to the role and make sure every voice is heard.

1. Open lines of communication- If elected, I will implement an open-door policy as well as an active social media presence so students can contact me with any issues or concerns. This will help to create strong bonds with the university's societies, fellow SU officers and student.

2. Promotion of university's resources- I want to promote the help zone and all their resources around the university, especially to new students in September. I will do this by displaying posters on all campus and give out leaflets with the help zones information on to new student on move-in day.

3. I will organize campaigns throughout the academic year to promote topics such as mental health, learning disabilities, gender and sexual orientation and many more.
