Congratulations to inspirational students and staff
Cheltenham Town Hall came alive today (Wednesday, April 30th) as around 200 students and staff came together for the annual Staff Awards.
The awards incorporated the Student-Led Teaching Awards (voted by students) and Staff Excellence Awards (voted by staff) - recognising the University’s most inspiring individuals and teams.
Kat Volosatov won the Student Rep of Year Award, Matt Coldrey and The Student Band (consisting of Aimee Sullivan, Leonie Carr and Robbie Fettah) entertained everyone between the award presentations.
Louise Fensome, Education Officer of the University's Students’ Union, said: "The Student-Led Teaching Awards is a significant event that brings together both students and lecturers to celebrate outstanding course reps, teaching practise and academic support within the current year.
"Together they celebrate the hard work and commitment that the University of Gloucestershire supply, giving students the best teaching and learning experience possible. The awards provide an opportunity to congratulate and say thank you to our lecturers and staff who make a difference and contribute a vast amount of their time to the student body.”

We had an increase in the response rate of 37% this year, showing that more students are engaging with nominating in the SLTA's and more staff are nominating in the Staff Awards.
We hope that next year the event can be bigger and better once again!
