Computing & Technology Society

Welcome to the University of Gloucestershire Computing and Technology Society!

The Computing and Technology Society aims to bring both sides of computing together - both technical and creative!

Who is the society aimed towards?

The society is welcome to any individual, not just those studying computing courses and there will be activities and socials that will appeal to those of any background while also allowing everyone to broaden their expertise in an area that they haven't yet pursued but would love to give a go!

What societies and activities will be offered?

Currently we plan to cover each area of computing, ranging from game jams to capture the flags that will all welcome both team based and individual events to allow for those of all experience and expertise to get involved.

On top of this, more casual events will also take place. As lockdown has now ended we will be holding regular pub and club meetups aswell as gaming events and exhibition meetups!

Where can I get involved?

We are always looking for members to help host events as we are fully aware that we aren't experts in any particular field! If you feel like you have the knowledge to lead an event then get in contact with any member of the Committee! For instance, if you're particularly strong at 3D modelling, we'd love for you to host a session where we can all get together to learn the basics of a software that you're familiar with! We'd love to have anyone from any background!

The goal:

Ultimately, we are trying to create a community that can meetup and be able to make some strong bonds; whether that's through stressful coding and organisation in a game jam, laughing over a couple drinks and low-stake poker or framing each other with murder in Among Us group sessions!

As soon as you've setup a membership you'll be added to the official Discord!
