As a community, we should help and give each other the chance to grow, support yourself and others whilst we are on our creative journeys towards the same goal. They may just come back in your life and help you out the same way you did all those years ago.
Throughout my time in Illustration BA, I've always wanted to strive for community & collaboration within illustrators, to share connections and be able to support each other where we can.
I would like to aim towards the following:
- Communication has been a barrier and I aim to make it easier and less difficult between each other. By holding anthologies, collaborations, and one-off sessions, I aim to improve these hurdles so that it is less difficult when it comes to communication.
- There have been issues in the past that have been prevalent, information not being passed onto parties that need this information and vice versa. With situations like these, I aim to communicate information like this clearly so that nothing is left out and that everyone has their fair share of opportunities when they arise. Everyone is equal and should be given the chance when possible.
- Sometimes, there are things that we don’t talk that I feel like we should. Instead of treating it like a dark horse, we should be able to talk about it regarding the art world. By having those conversations, I feel that there would be less barriers asking about help within our peers.
